Howard's Hand Honingpair of shears

Are your scissors dull?

Knives blunted?

Over-enthusiastic grinding can ruin the temper of your edges by over-heating them, and usually removes a great deal of metal as well; changing the shape of your blades and shortening their useful lives.

In my shop. . .

In my shop (conveniently located in downtown Toronto) I will hone your edges by hand on various natural stones and furnace-made abrasives. A minimal amount of steel is removed, and edges are configured to suit their use.

Fees

At this time; sharpening of a pair of shears is $5, and of knives, $2.50 each. Any fancy reconfigurations, repairs or removal of deep nicks will have to be negotiated. E-mail, or call Howard, at (416)703-2322 for an appointment. Most work can be done while you wait!
